I was around 11 years old when I first started getting into fashion and experimenting with different outfits each day. My fashion journey slowly evolved like many other style-obsessed teens from girly to trendy to alternative, eventually covering most of the stereotypical high school styles like raver, hipster, punk and urban. 20 years later, I still haven't settled on just one style yet (I like to change it up!) but nowadays, I do know what I like and have a list of fashion designers I take inspiration from on the daily.
When I started actually learning about designers and their history in college my respect for them grew even more. I became one of the millions of obsessed fans who hold them to celebrity status. I wallpapered my dorm room with their works of art and referenced them everyday as inspiration for both my own style and my designs. So it's no surprise that whenever I hear of a new ready-to-wear designer entering into the lingerie world, I get a super excited! Some have been a hit (thanks Betsey Johnson
!) and some not so much, but the potential is always there and I can't help but envision what I wish would look like.
For the designers who haven't come out with their own lingerie collection yet, I recently took the liberty of sketching a few pieces that I thought would be perfect under their label. Today I'm sharing my designs on The Lingerie Addict
in hopes of encouraging these designers to consider a lingerie collection in the future.....and really I just had a blast sketching them! Check it out here
and let me know what you think - should they hire me??
