Summer, Summer, Summer Time…..

So I may have missed out on seeing fireworks this 4th of July, but there's been no shortage of action so far this month! We've been in full swing, gearing up for the Curve Show in August and checking out what's new on the lingerie scene. From bra fitting to bikini shopping, we're diving in to the best of what this summer has to offer.

You may have heard recently that 80% of women are wearing the wrong size bra. While this claim can sound a bit accusatory at times, there is some truth behind it and many women could benefit from a proper fitting and trying out a different size to support their glorious mammaries. I think saying "wrong size" is kinda harsh, but opening my mind to different sizing than I was used to, did end up making a world of difference to me in the long run. That's why I came up with the 10 Commandments of Bra Fitting which I recently shared on The Lingeristas. It's not always such a black and white issue and there are many factors to consider when looking for your ideal size, but following these tips will help you get closer to a supportive fit no matter what your size and shape. All hail the mighty brassier!

A few weeks ago, I had the pleasure of meeting super plus size model Ashley Graham in the flesh. Ms.Graham's beauty measures up to her reputation in person with vivacious curves and a bubbly personality to match - I felt like we were long time BFF's the whole time dishing on our favorite underthings and our love of donuts! Her new lingerie line is launching this October exclusively at Nordstrom and the larger sized lingerie designs are quite impressive. Ashley says that she is 100% involved in the design of each garment and it shows. Edgy, yet sexy details adorn each of the sophisticated pieces but with added functionality such as removable embellishments and backs with smoothing properties. Available in cup sizes DD and up, I imagine this line will go far with its moderate pricing and glamorous feel.

And lastly, I got a little more personal than usual on The Lingerie Addict last week and decided to share some of my favorite pieces of lingerie in my collection. These are pieces that I cherish and plan on holding on to forever as they have tons of sentimental value to me in my life's journey. My first designer purchase, my most unique vintage finds, the first bra I ever made... I put everything out there for all to see and shared some personal tidbits of my past to boot.
