Hello, Yellow! Some Lovely Lingerie In The Happiest Of Hues

"Don't wear white after Labor Day" is one of those silly fashion rules I make it a point to rebel against every year just on principal. Etiquette schmetiquette - those fashion "rules" always seem like just another way to keep us in line and complacent. So at the end of my summers, I not only continue to flaunt my signature brights and whites but I take pleasure in balking at the browns, tans and rusts of the upcoming fall season (no offense to you autumn lovers out there).
But one shade I can never seem to get my fill of is yellow. This uplifting hue colors some of some of life’s greatest treasures....sunshine, daffodils and cheese just to name a few. However for as wonderful as this color is, it also remains underrepresented in the fashion world - especially in the lingerie industry - and I think it's about time that we bring yellow to the mainstream so it can ditch its second hand status.
(Twiggy circa 1965)
Even though this lemony hue exudes happiness and joy wherever it goes, we rarely see it in mainstream fashion or the lingerie world. It's warm and it's happy but let's face it - yellow is a tough color to wear for many skin tones. And while I want nothing more than to freely don this citrus hue, it tends to leave me looking more jaundice than joyous. And apparently other people feel the same way too since yellow clothing rarely sells in comparison to safe neutrals. And especially in the lingerie world: a designer has to be very confident to risk offering a yellow style in their collection since they may be stuck with a lot of it when the season's over.
Regardless of yellow's unpopularity in clothing, I'm still here campaigning for it year round. You may not see me in a full-on marigold sweater anytime soon, but I find a way to pay homage to it in my accessories, purses, shoes, etc. And when I find lingerie in this happiest of hues I feel all warm and fuzzy all over. Want to feel it too? Check out some of the sunshiny lingerie pieces I've scouted recently and see if you don't find yourself pining for a piece of that yellow goodness.

The very last one and the Agatha Nightgown by Betty Blue.
I like the straps and ruffles together. Never seen them together before.
As for the gown. The long and flowy brings them home.
