To Blog or Not To Blog

Posted on 02 April 2015

As a child of the 90’s it’s amazing to me how many platforms are available to us today to share ourselves with the world. There are so many different ways and places to express yourself than ever before! Everyday I wake up and am fortunate enough to have the opportunity to exercise my right of free speech and expression via my lingerie merchandising, designing or writing. And not only do I have the opportunity to write here where I can literally say anything that pops into my head, but also on some top reputable lingerie blogs out there today. Blogging allows me to be part of a bigger conversation and share my thoughts with other similar people. It has opened me up to new ways of viewing the industry and meaning of lingerie as I've met countless interesting people and encountered many different viewpoints.

The Lingerie Addict is one such blog that I’ve been writing for since 2011, which has since grown exponentially to become one of the top lingerie blogs in the world. Since I started, my contributions have become more frequent and more meaningful to the work I do as it has allowed me to meet some amazing personalities and attend some fabulous events and previews. Some of my most favorite posts I’ve written throughout the years are about trends, new labels and my personal experiences in the industry. The fact that I am able to share, learn and interact with a variety of likeminded people on this platform, makes writing for TLA an invaluable experience.

On the flip side, my newest endeavor is with newcomer blog The Lingeristas. This small team of colorful contributors has been making me feel at home these past few months, encouraging me to branch out and share more of myself with their readers. This fledgling blog keeps things positive, light and stylish with unique photoshoots, indie designer reviews and an anything-goes policy. I’ve contributed two pieces so far and looking forward to seeing this blog blossom into it’s full potential.

It's taken me a while to finally become comfortable with the blogging world and not feel like such a narcissist talking about my opinions and myself…after all, that's what blogging is all about, right? And now, after years of suppression, I have finally found the confidence to share my voice with others and I don’t have any plans to stop anytime soon. Have you ever tried blogging?
