(“When Pat Goes Out To Play” by Bill Randall)
So you may have heard the mass hysteria surrounding Winter Storm Juno and how NYC was in a tizzy preparing to hunker down with loads of chocolate, kale and booze. But I have to say, I’m pretty disappointed at the lack of snow. I mean – three feet sounded great! I was pretty excited with the prospect of a day full of Netflix and napping. But alas the measly five inches we got fell short of everybody’s expectations. I even had some new lingerie picked out for the occasion (what else are you going to do snowed in with your SO??) and was itching to use it. It never ended up seeing the light of day of course (it was too cold!), but I did get in some good snuggling time wrapped up in my cozy Betsey Johnson Luxe robe.

Anyway, as I write this, the sun is now shining and the city is a mushy mess of sludge and salt. The city workers are surly and the pedestrians are worn out focusing their energy on dodging the three foot hidden ice puddles and trying to warm up frozen toes. While I’m warm and dry inside my little abode, working away, I share with them the frustration of an anticlimactic event and it’s making me long for the joyful days of spring. I know, I know – we still have three more months to go (unless Punxsutawney Phil gives us some good news next week), but what’s the harm in fantasizing about pastel tulips, a warm breeze and cheery vibrant colors?
As we trudge through this long slushy winter at least I can say that we’ve got a bunch of fun styles coming down the pipeline very soon. Pieces from lingerie start-up Toru & Naoko as well as the fabulous Dottie’s Delights and socially conscious Naja will all be gracing our site in the next few weeks so keep an eye out for these new pieces and soon I bet you’ll be dreaming of spring as well.
